Here's a listing of some of our favorite wine information and wine related links. Most are in English (or have an English translation) and most are free to access. All of them are informative with lots of good information. If you have others we should add, please send us an email.
German Wine USA - the US marketing site for German Wines with tons of information about the regions, grapes, vintages and current events. Great place to start if you're trying to learn about wines from Germany.
www.deutscheweine.de/internet-de - in German (but have an English translation for most of the information); this is "the" German Wine website maintained by the German Wine Institute with lots of information (that is usually mirrored in their US marketing site www.germanwineusa.org).
www.weinausoesterreich.at - the Official Austrian Wine site maintained by the Austrian Wine Marketing Board; it is in both English and German. Fantastic information about the regions, grapes, production statistics and vintage information as well as some good history about grape growing and wine in Austria.
www.edenwines.co.uk - this is an excellent site to learn about all the different grape varieties grown in Germany - even the obscure and the new crossings. It has other fun, interesting information about German wines and a fun link to a current weather update for various vineyard areas.
Jancis Robinson - our favorite wine expert (Master of Wine) puts out her own website about wine (this one requires you to pay to get everything). In our opinion, one of the best out there in the business without the seriously flawed bias that shows up in some of the other wine reviewers' and writers' musings and reviews. A breath of fresh air with several books that form the core of our library and that we'd heartily recommend.
Slow Food - if you believe today's modern life is moving too fast and we don't spend enough time enjoying the things that truly nourish the soul (friends, family, good food and wine), then this is the site for you.
Local Wine Events - good site to find wine related events happening in your area.
For Those Lucky Enough to Live in Atlanta:
kurtsrestaurant.com - if you're lucky enough to live in Atlanta, then this is THE place to go for great food (and yes that means authentic German cuisine). We recommend the Beer Garden when the weather is nice and please remember to order some wine with your meal.
